An old short story series I tried writing during high school. The stories followed a group of half-human, half-animal hybrids known as Anthros, with each story giving a glimpse into their trials and struggles with persecution and various trauma. The main characters are part of a garage band and use it as an escape from their problems.
The series was based off a novella I wrote called Mutated, which basically gave the background of how Anthros came to be, and more or less set the scene for how Anthros were viewed by humans in this universe. The novella was also written during high school, and is extremely horrible, cringey, and in desperate need of a rewrite (which will probably never happen).
I’ve had a bit of an idea to try and repurpose these characters into a comic, set maybe half a decade into the future, with even more trials and struggles for them to deal with. Time will tell if I ever get around to writing it.
