So maybe you know this about me, or maybe you don’t, but I’m an avid auto racing fan, and I do a lot of sim racing in my spare time. Lately I’ve been playing a newer title called Assetto Corsa Rally. It’s in early access and doesn’t have a lot of content so far, but I’ve been liking the driving physics a lot. One of the cars in the game is one of my favorites in terms of design and aesthetics, the Group B legend, the Lancia 037.
In spite of my love towards this beautiful machine, every time I attempt to drive it, it goes out of its way to try and kill me in every way possible. It’s fantastic, and it gives my arms a good workout on my direct-drive sim rig.

So anyway, as I’ve been playing AC Rally, I’ve been doing so with my driver name set as Kieran Fox, naturally, and my co-driver set to a werewolf character (whom I haven’t depicted until now) named Rudolph Mitchell. So I decided to depict myself and Rudolph inside the 037.

This gave me a good chance to try drawing a car on canvas and depict a surrounding environment. I referenced the car using a screenshot I took from the game. I did try to draw the car freehand instead of tracing, however.
Side note, the graphics in AC Rally look great.

Also, here’s another landscape piece done a few Sundays ago.

Borealis painting
Borealis

I tried my hand a depicting a night scene with an aurora borealis. There’s some elements I think I did well with and others that could use work. The colors of the aurora need work, I think.

Anyways, back to job hunting.
